SEAMLESS will be showcased at IAME 2025
- 18/03/2025
The IAME Annual Conference is a premier event for maritime economists, industry practitioners, and policymakers to discuss recent research and developments in maritime, port, and transport logistics.
The event will take place from June 25 to 27, 2025, in Bergen, Norway, and this year, it will also showcase the SEAMLESS project.
Our colleagues from NTUA and SINTEF will be presenting SEAMLESS with the abstract:
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS FOR AN AUTONOMOUS SHORT SEA SHIPPING AND INLAND WATERWAY TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN EUROPE: THE “SEAMLESS” PROJECT
Their work, wrote by Vasileios Podimatas, Angeliki Stouraiti, Konstantinos Louzis, Nikolaos P. Ventikos,
Harilaos N. Psaraftis, Håvard Nordahl, will present a comprehensive set of economic, environmental, and social Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) designed to assess an autonomous Short Sea Shipping (SSS) and Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) system in Europe. This system is being developed as part of the highly ambitious SEAMLESS multi-partner EU research project.
The project aims to develop an integrated system comprising waterborne SSS and IWT shuttle services, with core enabling modules focused on highly automated and autonomous technologies. It also plans to demonstrate these technologies through various real-world and simulated demonstrator use cases.
This paper will focus on the KPIs used to assess the system’s performance.
Stay tuned!
